"The Process of Becoming" - Giclee print - BW version
$40.00
“The Process of Becoming” is inspired by philosophical and religious notions about impermanence. The title of the piece comes from the Greek Philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus who said, “nothing in this world is constant except change and becoming.” In philosophy, “becoming” is, “the possibility of change in a thing that has being, that exists.” In Buddhism, the concept of impermanence or “anicca” is an important part of the doctrine. Buddhist teachers and texts have emphasized one must fully recognize that everything that is material or mental is in a constant state of change and subject to decay and destruction. I began this piece with these thoughts in mind.
